My frig section is warm, my freezer drawer is cold. I removed the panel in the rear and noticed the condenser fan wasn't running. Does it run continually? I can hear a fan running inside the refrigerator, possibly the evap fan motor, which I understand I have to remove the drawer and go beyond the wall to get to, if it needs replacing. Should I replace the condenser fan motor?
The condenser fan motor should be running when the compressor is running. If the compressor is on but the fan is not then you will want to test the voltage of the fan to ensure that there is 120 vac to it and if there is then replace the condenser fan motor. You will also want to check to make sure that the damper door in the refrigerator compartment back is opening and closing as this could cause the refrigerator section not to cool. Check the rear wall of the freezer to make sure that there is no frost build up causing the unit to not cool.
Is part #AP4009653 used in place of AP4366538? If service test 1 shows only defrost thermostat open is it definitely the thermastat or could the board be involved?
Answer Hello Greg. Yes, based on the model number you provided, you will need to order and replace the kit 12002754. There is a chance the board could be bad and give that code. Hope this helps.
