Water is leaking out the bottom of our Whirlpool refridgerator. I'd like to clean it out but I'm not able to find the drain hose, etc. Is it behind the back on the inside of the freezer cabinet? What is the best way to clean it?
Thanks for your help.
Answer Hello Raul,
To access the drain you will need to remove the rear cover of the freezer compartment. The best way to clean is to get as much ice out of drain then use hot water to flush drain. You may need to pull unit out and remove the compressor cover and pull the grommet off the drain line to get to drain properly. You may also want to make the opening of the grommet a little larger due to it getting clogged and not allowing water to drain.
Kenmore fridge/freezer. frozen drip hose, how do I get past the rear panel on inside - rails on sides prevent bottom of back panel from removing the back panel? thanks.
Answer Denis, You will need to remove the side "ladder" rails, as well as the center ladder rail. Each rail has three(3) screws that secure them to the liner. You really don't need to remove the back wall. The issue is the water inlet valve. You can de ice the fill tube and grommet with a hair dryer, and replace the water valve, and you'll most likely be fine. Since it appears you have an "add on" ice maker you will probably need 67003753 Thanks and Good Luck
