I have taken the lower back panel off and checked the little black rubber piece. Seems fine. The funnel going up into the freezer compartment seems to be plugged with a plastic plug, like the plastic piece was never removed from the inside of the funnel tube. It is completely closed off with a plastic plug. I put a hose on it and could not blow or pull any air back through it. Could the factory have put a defective plugged up funnel in there? If so can I push the plastic piece out of the funnel? If I have to replace it I assume I need to do it from the inside of the freezer compartment. Right?

My Amana Bottom Mount freezer has been leaking. I removed the back panel of the freezer and checked the inside drip tray for freezing, but it was clear/clean. I opened the access panels in the back and saw that the drain line was broken off of the funnel (I think) so the defrost water was just falling to the floor. I have a picture. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator/bottom freezer model #GI5FVAXVL01. The drain funnel for the freezer condensation froze and ice started forming on the bottom of the freezer. I removed the ice and thawed the funnel. There is a rubber grommet/choke on the end of the drain funnel that keeps warm moist air from getting to the freezer compartment. This part seems to be causing the problem. Do you have a parts number for the that rubber grommet/choke?

I noticed that we speak of the drain funnel here. I've had jobs that the freezer drain trough is frozen and blocked. I clear the funnel and find at times the rubber choke is missing and the heat from the Compressor compartment by nature travels up the the funnel and causes condensation to freeze at the opening causing a problem. Q- Does this part have a Number or does it come with the Funnel...?

How do you replace the freezer drain funnel? I unclogged it from inside the freezer, but would like to consider replacing the funnel. The coils and defrost drain pan cover the funnel on the inside of the freezer. How do you remove / replace the funnel?

Thanks for this great website . I saved myself 30+ $$ on reading the forums here and not buying a water control valve for my icemaker . Instead the cause of water pooling on the floor of the freezer (bottom) was a clogged the frozen drain for the defrost water drain. Yup full of food gunk. I was able to clean it out from behind the fridge and melt the ice plug with a hairdryer from inside the freezer area. I am wondering about a black rubber cap thing that's on the end of the funnel where it sticks down above the channel and pan that collects the water. It seem like a choke point for food debris from above and I do not see it on the list of parts you list here for the freezer. Is it really needed?
