Hello - When I was using my Kitchenaid khhc2090sss microwave this morning (it is about 6.5 years old) I started hearing some buzzing and popping noises then after I removed the item and shut the door it powered off and I can't get it back on. I have checked the circuit breaker and outlet and everything is fine. The problem is definitely with the microwave itself. The main panel will not come on when I plug it in, nor will the light inside the microwave. I suspect the interior fuse is blown. I have read your other replies about how to test it and replace it but how do I get to it? Do I go down through the top or up from the inside of the microwave? The microwave is mounted above the range, under the cabinet, so I'm hoping I won't need to remove it from the wall. Thank you!

My breaker tripped to the microwave and now it shows no signs of power after resetting the breaker. I tried another outlet but no difference. Could it be a fuse?

Latest Questions

The other day I was in a hurry to get out the door. When I was done using the Microwave, I accidentally slammed the door a little too hard and it looked like the power went out on the microwave. When I got home that evening I tried resetting the braker in the garage, but it didn't come on. I unplugged the unit and checked the door sensors all three look to be good. Could it be the fuse? The Megnatron fuse? Maybe even the control panel itself? Please help I need some hints. I don't want to go out and buy parts I don't need. Thank you!!

I found the thermal fuse in my Whirlpool microwave. The ceramic is gray, not white. Is this normal? Also, I noticed it's a 250v/20a fuse - will any ceramic fuse of this rating do the job?

The microwave has zero power. I've checked for continuity on the thermal fuse in my unit and the fuse is most definitely blown. It looks rather accessible after pulling off the front control panel, but there is a big piece of plastic (part of the fan housing I think?) blocking me from getting to the fuse. How do I replace the fuse? Also, when replacing the fuse, what precautions do I need to take with nearby high-voltage components (aside from unplugging the microwave)? Thank you!
