The ignitor starts, flame comes on, stays on for a min then goes out. ignitor starts again a minute later, the flame comes, high smell of gas. Clothes are not dried in an hour, but may be dried in 2 or 3. We did replace Dryer Igniters and Gas Valve Coils 3 years ago.

UNIT WILL NOT HEAT; HAVE REPLACED IGNITOR WHICH WAS BAD (HAD BURN MARKS AND CRACKED); HAVE REPLACED COILS AND STILL IGNITOR COMES ON BUT DOES NOT IGNITE GAS. (GAS IS COMING THRU) WHAT'S NEXT?

Dryer starts and works fine. Open door to check clothes, close, push start and the dryer tumbles and the gas valve clicks on but does not lite, yet gas valve stays on filling dryer and vent hose with unburned natural gas. I think replacing the igniter may help lite the gas, but what safety feature is not turning off the gas in the event it does not lite?

What should I be looking for when heat won't come on when drying on high like heavy cycle? It will work when on delicate cycle.
