Ice builds up on bottom of freezer every week.drips on floor
You will want to pull the back panel off in the freezer and clean the defrost drain trough of all the ice. Then you will want to flush the drain with hot water. You will also want to replace the drain tube W10619951.
I have a layer of ice on the bottom of my freezer that I have to remove once a week because it starts melting out of the freezer and onto the floor. I think my defroster drain is blocked. Am I right? Where is it located so I can clean it out. If I am wrong, any I other ideas what might wrong? Thank in advance.
You are correct on the drain being clogged. This will be a 2 step process. Step 1 remove the rear cover of the freezer compartment and clear out any ice that is in the drain trough. Step 2 will be to pull unit out from wall and remove the compressor cover. In the middle will be a black channel that goes from the drain pan to the drain coming out of the cabinet. On the drain coming out of the cabinet there will be a black duck bill on it. Remove the duck bill and clear any debris that is in it. Once cleared you will then want to make the opening on the end were the slit is a little large to pass any debris that would clog this area.
