Do you have a video on replacing a gasket for a kenmore 596.72252201//or original mfg bottom freezer gasket?
To replace the door gasket on your unit, you will need to pull the freezer door out. On the rail there is 1 screw at the front of each rail. Once the screw is out you will want to make sure that the drawer is empty then lift by the door up in the front then it will release at the back by lifting out. You will then lay the door face down on a soft surface and pull the old gasket off and install the new one.
I need a gasket for the bottom freezer, can you supply me with the price and can you please let me know if it comes with instructions? If not where can I obtain the instructions for this? I know some gaskets get attached with screw, adhesive and others with clips that might get damaged during removal. So if I order the gasket I need to know what items I will need when I replace it with the new one. Thank you for your time and cooperation. Brian Sig
Answer Brian, the freezer door gasket listed for your model is part number 67003554. No other parts are needed for the repair as this will press into the liner of the freezer door. There is a handy video on our site that will show you how to remove the gasket. The video is of a different model and gasket however, the installation will be the same for your unit. You'll need to pull out the freezer drawer and on the two sides remove the screws holding the door to the slides. Once you remove the screws you'll need to lift the door off the rails. It will be better to remove food items and such from the unit for easier access. Thanks.
