Replacing the sump gasket in a Jenn-Air JDB1255AWS2; do I need to pull the dishwasher to do this repair? I can't seem to remove the sump from the inside of the dishwasher, and I can't see any obvious bolts or retainers.

" Wash Motor Assembly The Wash Motor Assembly is designed to provide recirculating, filter, wash and particle chopping functions for the dishwasher cycles. Removal 1. Disconnect power to the machine. 2. Remove racks. 3. Remove Wash Manifold 4. Loosen Wash Arm Hub and Pivot.

I NEED TO REPLACE THE MOTOR SEAL, IT HAS MELTED AND IS LEAVING BLACK GOOE ON EVERYTHING LIKE A MELTED TAR, WILL ANYTHING =ELSE NEED TO BE REPLACED?
Answer Jeannine, No you should not need anything other than the pump seal. But, you do want to check and make sure the drain hose is not twisted, kinked, or restricted. You will also want to check and make sure the water in the bottom of the tub on the first fill of any cycle is between 120 and 130 dgrs.F. and you are using the proper amount of detergent for the load size, and conditions.
