I purchased all the gears for this Kitchenaid pro 600 mixer a week or so ago. The worm gear follower was stripped and the main gear was also. I changed them as well as the bevel gear and put new grease in. It's a pretty easy repair and everything fit together well. WHen I turned the mixer on again there was a farily loud knocking noise. took it apart again and was able to spin the motor by hand and everything turns smoothly. when I turn the power on to the motor I could see that the worm gear was jumping off the drive gear on the motor. There seems to be a lot of play that the whole worm gear can move in it's cradle. With the motor running (I was very careful) I could make the knocking stop by shifting the worm gear a little in its cradle by moving the front and rear bearings. I have ordered replacement front and rear bearings but the ones there look perfect with no signs of damage. Any ideas???

Latest Questions

I recently purchased motor part# AP4325635. However there are 8 teeth on the new motor, whereas, the old motor had 10. Because of this, the new motor will not match up with the old worm gear. Do I need to replace the gear with AP3854320? Will I also need to replace the other gear AP3594375? I cannot get an accurate tooth count from your website to see which gears will match up.
