I get a really loud squeaking noise when the machine is on spin cycle. I noticed a few broken coupler teeth. A repair guy I called said to add transmission oil to it put where does it go?
The motor coupler being broken could cause the squeaking noise but you will also want to check the drain to ensure that there is nothing in it and check the brake and clutch for wear. These would most likely be the reason for the issue that you are having. There should be no reason to add transmission oil to the transmission unless it is leaking out and you loose a lot of oil from the transmission. The only way to add oil is to open the gear case and add oil into the pan.
How do I know its the gear case assembly not the clutch. The unit does not spin or agitate and make noises when you try to use it
Answer K. Detrie,
With the unit not spinning or agitating and there being a noise you will want to check the motor coupler to make sure that it is not broken. This is normally the case with a no spin or agitate issue.
