The outer glass of my oven door broke and I took apart the door to replace. The glass was glued to the frame. Is there a special glue used and what is the number for the replacement glass that I need? Thank you.

Answer Hello Grant,
There is no glue used at the manufacturing facility on any oven door. This could be condensation from cooking or the seal heat stressed from self clean. You see, the self clean cycle produces temperatures from 900° to 1100°F. No adhesive will withstand these temperatures without putting off some by-product. This would add an adhesive flavor to any dish cooked in the unit. Reassemble dry.
I also have bought a new kitchenaid range and the lower oven inside glass shattered the first time we used the oven, has anyone else had this problem?

Answer Hello Mike,
There was probably a flaw in the glass from the factory. A bubble in the glass will cause this. If the unit is new, the factory should replace the glass at no charge unless an item was dropped on it since the warranty will not cover the glass unless it is from thermal breakage. If you need to replace it yourself, the part number is 9757706.
