Need to replace the inside glass. Which part number do I need? How difficult is this process?
Answer Hello Bob. 4449259 is the inner door glass. To change the glass in an oven door, you will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If you door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the door glass, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it.
I am having trouble putting the door back on the range. Is there a trick to it? We were moving the stove and someone was pulling on the door to move it and the door came off. Now we can't seem to get it back on correctly.
Answer Hello Jeff. Carefully use a pair of vise- grip pliers to cock each door hinge open and then make sure there is a steel nail inserts in the hinge aligning holes to keep it locked open. Then the door hinges need to be equally lifted and (gently) held up in place with your knee. Then put the hinge all the way on the top of the receiver hinge cross pins. It may at this point take a careful knee support and a gentle rock in place. This will allow the door hinge to be placed down onto the inner cross pins. Once in place, open the door fully. Remove the steel nails. Then cycle the door open and closed a couple of times to insure correct operation.
I need to know the exact dimensions of part number of AP3886533 (glass black oven door).
Answer Hello Jill, if you look at the part on our website, each square on the grid equals one inch. The door glass 9762477 looks to be approximately 29-1/2" wide by 20" tall. If you would provide your model number I could tell you for sure if it fits your model or not. Thanks!
