When can I expect to receive the whirlpool service manual covering range microwave you mentioned you will be sending so I can get started to replace the outer glass window. Today 11/9/11 I received the replacement part (AP4422625) I ordered from you. I am still waiting for the service manual before I attempt to install it, since I am a novice DIY. Thanks a lot for your assistance.
Answer You can very carefully replace the outer glass. If you mark the door hinges ( only if absolutely needing removed) this will be the best bet. The inner door black "frame" is called a choke plate. This is the actual seal to the frame/cavity that you do not want any leaks of radio waves. It is known that you can us a new dollar bill to put in a closed door to frame area. If it does pull out tightly (only) and not loose, then you are about correct in hinge placement. Use a flat screwdriver to pop the inner choke plate loose from the frame. This will access the inner door screws to remove the door latch, and springs. It will be self explanatory. Reassemble in reverse. Thank You.
How to install/replace a broken outer glass door (part no. AP4422625) on a Whirlpool combo microwave oven? It is broken and I need to replace it. Thank you for your help.
Answer Hi Eddie. We re sending a wpl. service manual that is a basic one covering over the range microwaves. It will get you in the right direction. See page 30 to get started. Then you will see inner screws holding the door inner latches and springs. You will then unclip the inner and outer panels. Remember to tighten the hinge screws exactly where they origionall were so your unit will remain safe to use in the home. Door Part # W10199425. Thank You.
