I have installed new seal but I still have a leak. Ia there something else I need to replace or is it because I have not tightened it enough. Your previous info was very helpful. I put soap on it and managed to finally install it myself (I'm a 70 year old female}.

Answer Mary, Great job. As long as you reinstalled all the components ( washer, nut, and bearing) You shouldn't have a leak, unless the nut didn't get tightenned enough. You may want to try tightening the nut, using a screwdriver and hammer, Thanks and Good Luck
I've removed seal from dishwasher. Having trouble installing new one. Does the seal have to be pressed in first or can it just be pushed down when screwing down the sprayarm assembly? I was told by a tech that since the dishwasher leaked down through the bottom it would have washed the oil out of the motor and the motor would seize up when I replace the seal.

Answer Hello Mary,
The possibility exists that the motor could fail from the leak, but the probability is slim as these units have a sealed bearing. The easiest way I have found to get the seal in is by lubricating it with liquid soap. This will make it pop out while your trying to get it in, but I think it's easier than not being able to get it in at all.
