The door is not latching so the dishwasher will not start. I wasn't sure which parts would be necessary: the actuator, the latch, and/or the handle?
Answer Hello Brandi,
First off, you should make sure the unit is secured in the cabinet. If the unit can shift around, this can prevent the door latch from striking correctly and prevent the door from latching. If it is secured, now make sure the door is striking correctly. By this I mean, if the unit is out of level, it can cause the door to strike off to one side, which can keep it from latching. I usually open the door a few inches and look at the gap from one side and compare it to the gap on the other side. As far as which part or parts you will need, you need to open the door liner to see which is broken or out of adjustment. There is also the door strike 8580309 that is mounted to the top of the tub. This can also be out of adjustment. There is no "adjustment" except if it gets bent, it will prevent the door from latching. You could always order all of the parts and send back what you don't need.
