Hi, the filter in our refrigerator needed to be changed, when removed it to change it the water came out like a faucet, flooded the fridge. I was able to put the filter back on, but now it leaks, turned the water off. Tried to look, but the top assembly with the temperature control, lights is covering it. Will need to know if how to get to it, and if you think it is the filter housing (some kind of valve that is broken, that is suppose to hold the water). In the past I just unscrew the filter and put the new one, a few drops and it was done.
Thank you for your help,
Answer Hello Maria. Yes, you will need to replace the filter head. Disconnect the unit from the power
source. Open the fresh food door and remove
any loose items on the top shelf. Remove light shield by pulling down on the back corners of the cover and sliding forward. Remove the control housing mounting screw at the back of the control housing. Slide the control housing to the right and lower from control housing supports. Disconnect the temperature control
housing electrical quick disconnect. Remove the temperature control housing from the refrigerator. Now you can remove the water filter head from the unit.
