Thanks for the prompt and professional response. Indeed the extra connector has a brown and pink wire attached. My fridge works fine but does in my opinion excessive defrosting so that I find pretty much everyday water in the pan beneath and I am afraid of flooding the floor (it could be a faulty or misprogrammed control board, but I don’t feel like replacing it). When I disable auto-defrost (by unplugging the connector of the defrost heater), ice will built up and force me to frequently do a manual defrost. I thought therefore to install a switch that allows me to turn on/off from time to time the auto-defrost heater, to lower the fill rate of the water pan while avoiding a frequent, time consuming manual defrost. What do you guys think about this idea?

I have 2 questions: 1. Where can I purchase the (female) nylon connector of the defrost heater (part number AP3041946) and its (male) contra-connector? 2. In the freezer section just above the evaporator where the connectors of question 1. are found there is, in addition to another black (4 prong) and another white connector, an extra (female) 2 prong nylon, white connector with no male connector plugged in (missing male connector). Is this correct? Is the female connector for technicians to insert a test plug? Thanks in advance for any advise and/or clarification.
