My dryer has melted the Heater Thermostat. I am curious if this just happens or if something else caused this problem. I don't want to just put another one in and have it melt again without knowing. Heater Thermostat was getting really hot but the heater was not heating the dryer air. Is this a sign that the heater thermostat is bad?

Dryer will not heat, tumbles fine but no heat. All my themostats test good with a ohm meter so does the heater element. The only part that tests different, as in no movement on ohms meter. Is the heater thermostat part AP407513. Can this part be continuity tested and could it be the problem of no heat.
