Can you tell me how to check the heat element. What ohms of resistance and what voltage should it have going to it ? Thanks
Daniel for Model Number RUD4000MQO
Answer Hi Daniel. You can check at the white wire of the door switch (incoming lead) neutral and the white/red wire of the timer with the breaker turned off. Unplug these wires and you should get 10-30 ohms resistance on these wires if the thermal fuse is good and not open, (fuse part # 3368928). Check to make sure the element is not shorted against one lead to the element itself also. Heating element part # W10082894. Also with the power on you can see at these 2-points that if the timer output has 120 vac output. If not it is part # 8535372. Thank You.
Does this item just unscrew/screw and plug in or out?
Marcia for Model Number DU8000xx2
Answer Hello Marcia. The heater has wires under the dishwasher that needs to be removed, then you unscrew the heater nuts that are above the wires. Once removed, you can remove the heater W10082894 from the unit. Hope this helps.
