I am replacing the coupling on my kenmore washer. the new part, ER285753A has a metal sleeve inserted which lasted one spinning of a load of towels then the metal came loose in the plastic. My question, does the heavy duty coupling 285852A have the same metal sleeve insert or is it solid plastic as shown on your web page? Thanks.

When I was washing clothes, the washer filled up, washed but it won't agitate or spin. It doesn't work for any other cycle. I replaced the lid switch but still had the same problem. Well, when I was emptying the washer with a bucket since it had water in it, I literally just bumped the dome and it started to work. Is the problem with the motor coupling being off-balanced or is it going bad? Is it the agitator that's going bad?
