I have a Maytag sav5600 which I just replaced the belt on and the helix seems like it's running backwards when I tested it. It's rising up and over the "teeth" vs. turning into them.

Answer Hello Whistler. The helix should turn in a certain direction based on the part of the cycle it is in. If the motor turns the same way in spin and agitate, you will need to replace the motor 27001215 in the unit. Hope this helps.

Answer Hi Dave. It sounds like you have debris stuck in the pump impeller. Inspect it to see if it has chewed away the impeller. If so you will need to replace it with part # 27001233. Thank You.

I just replaced helix as old one was sort of sheared or shaved off, and it was not engaging bottom part of pulley to spin . I thought this was the fix, but does the same thing only much louder now, as helix "tips" are longer and new. Like it is trying to shear off the new one. It agitates fine. Took belt off and pump spins fine, and agitator pulley spins both ways fine. Like it locks up when it triies to spin and pulley and helix are not engaged and just skip each other.

Answer Hi Mike. Also use blue loktite on the helix bolt. Then engage the pulley. See if the clutch which holds the 3 - brake pads are being released for the tub to spin. If the washers on top of the pulley are not stacked correctly or the brake pad is broken and jammed it will not allow the clutch release to spin the inner basket. Brake pads part # R0000014. Check all these items and let us know if we can assist further. Thank You.
