I have a Kenmore 11092972102 dryer. It runs good. It does not give off any heat. What probably went wrong and how can I fix it?

Answer Hello xing mo. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. I am replacing the Hi limit therm. It had the 2 terminal stat. I did not take note of wire placement. New stat has 3 term. I am using 1 & 3. Solid orange comes from top control and orge/white comes from bottom. Should solid orange go to term. 1? Thank you in advance.

Answer Hi Rudy. Yes the way you are to place the orange on # 1 terminal will be ok. If you have only 2-wires then use terminal #1 and #3. Thank You.

From a cold start, my gas dryer will ignite. It will cycle 3 or 4 times. In other words, the ignitor heats up and the flame will start, burn for awhile, turn off and stay off for awhile, then the ignitor will glow again, starting the flame. After the 3rd or 4th cycle the ignitor glows, but the flame does not come on. If I turn off the dryer and let it cool for about 20 minutes the flame will come on again and go through another 3 or 4 cycles before it fails. Air flow seens very good. It seems like one of the sensors is faulty, but which one? Thanks

Answer Hello Cris. Sounds like you have a coil 279834 on the safety valve failing. This kit includes both coils. You see, when the coil heats up, the resistance increases and prevents the opening of the gas valve. If it were a thermostat, the ignitor wouldn't glow. Answer Hi Chris. You should regulate normally between 125-145/150°. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Clean the vent hood / door flap outside also. The thermal fuse is part # 3390719. The flame senser is part # 338906, they will get sticky with plugged venting and cause the issue you explained. Thank you.

Dryer is not heating at its full capacity, clothes stay damp after cycle. What should I check first?

Answer Hello Sam. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. The dryer heats up first 5 min. then cuts heat off although the motor still runs. If I bypassed high-limit dryer thermostat on top of the box, then the dryer runs fine. Do I need to replace the high-limit dryer thermostat?
