Joan for Model Number de512
Answer Joan, you most likely have an air flow issue, You'll need to check and clean the exhaust vent pipes and vent hood(outside), also remove the lint filter and remove any excess lint that has accumulated in the housing. On the "auto cycle", if the drum temperature is not correct(155 dgrs.F) the timer will not advance. If the exhaust is restricted, kinked or clogged, the dryer gets too hot too quick, the hi limit switch opens, and there is no power to the timer motor to advance. In timed dry, the timer will run and shut off in the selected amount of time, wether it is heating properly or not.
The dryer works for a few minutes then cuts off,if you let it cool off it will start up again.

Answer Hello Clara. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
The moment my Atlantis Dryer begins to get hot, my breakers at the main house fuse box trips. The dryer will run all day on air fluff. Only happens under heat.

Answer Hello Justin,
First check the breaker, receptacle, and the power cord connection to the terminal block. Look for discolorations and/or malforming of the rubber and plastic parts. If this isn't it, use a test meter and unplug the unit. Test from ground to each of the flat spades that plug into the receptacle, (the side spades. The one in the center is neutral and this wouldn't be a good test).
You see, the breaker is tripped by an excessive current flow. This means that there is either a point of high resistance, (poor electrical connection), or a short, (not likely if the breaker doesn't trip immediately when the heat is on). Chances are high that you will either find a discolored wire where the connection is loose or a power supply issue such as a worn, loose receptacle.
