I am having trouble installing part # AP3131941 can you help?
Answer Hello Joe. One side of this goes onto the heater terminal and the other connects to the wire. You will pull the old one off the heater leg to remove and then put the new one in it's place. Hope this helps.

My dryer has been taking too long to dry. I took the back off and watched the heating element come on, it's a bright, even, good heat, it's on for 20 seconds, goes off for 2min then back on for 20 seconds. I timed it with a stopwatch, it could do this all day long. and this is all it will do. This dryer is just 2 years old. The vent and hose are new, I took the back off everything is clean, it still looks new. So is this normal for the element to go off and on like this?
Answer Hello John. Yes, the element should cycle on and off. Try drying with the unit unhooked from the vent pipe and see if it dries the clothes properly. If it does, then the vent is the issue.
The dryer starts and runs for awhile, then it goes off, when opening the door it is very hot and you can see the heating element and it is red hot, what is the possible problem?
Answer Hello Sam,
After looking at the wiring diagram for your unit,WED5300SQ0, it appears that you either have a heating element 279838 shorted to ground or the centrifugal switch in the motor 279827 has welded closed.
