Hello, In one of your responses, it states this hi-limit thermostat should be closed for continuity, but the forum says there should be continuity. I am confused. When I check it with a multimeter per the instructions, I get a reading 1.7. That means there is continuity, right? Is that bad. I also check the element and it gets a reading of 11.1. I am assuming that's good. (Set to 200 in the ohms section) Please help

My dryer has been taking too long to dry. I took the back off and watched the heating element come on, it's a bright, even, good heat, it's on for 20 seconds, goes off for 2min then back on for 20 seconds. I timed it with a stopwatch, it could do this all day long. and this is all it will do. This dryer is just 2 years old. The vent and hose are new, I took the back off everything is clean, it still looks new. So is this normal for the element to go off and on like this?

The thermal cut-off for my dryer is not available by itself. It comes with a new high limit thermostat. My high limit thermostat tests out fine. Should I still change it, or just hang on to it until the old one goes bad?
