The door on the washer is hard to close where it will lock. you have to slam it.
Answer Richard, Slamming the door is probably part of the problem. There are a few things to check. The door and hinges, make sure they aren't bent or sagging down on the side opposite the hinges. Sometimes the hinges and door will sag from leaning on the door when loading or unloading the washer. You'll need to remove the front panel, dispenser assembly and raise the top of the washer. You'll need to look at the top support brace that the latch assembly is attached to see if it is bowed in towards the back of the machine, you can pull out on the brace and try to realign it, or install a couple of washers between the latch assembly and the brace to move it out and align it with the latch loop. It only takes a 16 th or so, if you go too far the door wont seal properly and you'll have a leak.
