Hi. When replacing the drain hose, do I need to disconnect the copper line water feed? Or can I simply roll out the dishwasher to replace the hose? And can you confirm that replacement drain hose includes the check valve? Thanks in advance. Bob

My elderly neighbor had a mouse chew up the drain hoses on her Whirlpool dishwasher. There are 2 hoses that were chewed up and I can't tell where they split or connect. Do you know where I can find a diagram or picture of the hose connections? Thank you

I took the dishwasher out to replace the hot water hose to the washer. I was in two minds whether I should replace the drain as well. The existing drain hose (AP3178188) has the check valve in its elbow (pump side). Ran a quick test. The check valve is still in its place. What I saw was that the with the hose disconnected, if I fill it up the check valve will leak water every so slightly, (drip by drip), (towards the elbow- closest to the check valve). What I am wondering is if that means the valve is bad or if that's as good as these check valves will work. Secondly, The washer is about 12 yrs old. Is it time to replace the drain nonetheless? Would really appreciate a quick response as I have the dishwasher out.

Is the check valve in the drain pump hose visible with the naked eye? Is it on the pump side of elbow or the tube side? I looked into mine and saw nothing, but it is hard to see the otherside of the elbow connector. (the red part).
