Water pouring out of the float switch when dishwasher in run mode. Do I need to buy any other part of just start with float switch? Thanks!
You will want to check the spray arms to ensure that they are not cracked or broken. If they are they will create a ripple or wave action that can cause this issue to occur.
I just bought a motor and pump, but my dishwasher will still not drain. Do you think it could be this switch?
Answer Hello Mike. If the dishwasher is bringing in water, then the float switch should be ok. You can test the switch to make sure it is good. Across NC and COM it should read closed, and across NO and COM it should read open. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged. You will need to test and see if the board is sending power to the pump, when the unit goes into drain. If not, then the board W10039780 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
