Answer David, It may be necessary to use an extraction tool to remove the screw and replace the screw if you are unable to remove the screw with a Phillips screw driver.

The ice maker does not dispense ice. It seems the auger is getting jammed when ice is in the bin. We've cleaned and dried the bin out several times. the auger seems to rotate fine when there is no ice in the bin but once ice is in there it gets stuck and doesn't push the ice through. Can you help?

Answer Hello Melissa, You will want to check the coupler on the ice bin. The part that is on the door that connects to the ice bin. There are 2 1/4" screws holding shaft in place. Pull the screws and the assembly. Check to make sure that the coupling sleeve is not frozen in the down position. If this is the case the unit will not dispense. If it is in the down position, pull it off and dry thoroughly. Add a little lubricant to the shaft to keep it from freezing.

The auger assembly in the ice bucket is loose. If the assembly is pushed up a bit by the ice, it sort of disengages from the drive motor. I am unable to loosen screw on the bottom of the ice bucket/auger. Does the auger assembly need to be replaced or do I have to get an entire new bucket with assembly?

Answer Hello Martin, The auger W10140642 could be changed on its own or you could replace the entire bin 2258250. The screw is loctite in place and is difficult to remove. You want to make sure that the auger is not just loose. Make sure that there is no ice build up on the coupling which is causing it not to make contact. If there is ice build up between the two components you can put a grease between the two to keep from building ice.

Question concerning Ice Control Assy Part Number: AP3873956, MFG Part Number: 2258236. Is this compatible with Model KSRG25FKBL15? Is this the complete Ice bin and auger assembly? The cost of individual parts to repair mine will cost more than the entire assembly (which I think is ridiculous for a handfull of parts).

My icemaker works but my dispenser keeps clogging. Should I replace the entire ice bucket or just the grinding pieces inside?

Answer Lisa, A model number would've been helpful. You may want to check and make sure the cubes are not " clumping" together, and causing a jam or clog. The cubes can stick together when there is an abundance of ice, the freezer temperature is below 0 dgrs. Usually, an ice dispenser bin will make noise if the blades are damaged or loose, and you may see white plastic chips in a glass. You're also going to need to check the ice dispenser flapper door in the dispenser housing(front) to make sure it opens and closes properly, and if you have a crushed ice option, make sure the :crusher door on the front of the ice bin, operates properly as well.
