My ice maker doesn't make ice. I've replaced the entire ice making machine twice. Last one made ice for two days and stopped. How do I check to see if I need to replace the solenoid or just the control panel or the inlet valve?? What's making it stop suddenly???
Answer Hello Phil. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. Next, make sure the filter is good. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
My Kenmore Elite 10657793701 side by side refrigerator's ice maker has stopped ejecting the cubes. It freezes the ice but that's all. It this a control modular issue?
The first thing that you will want to check is the emitter board. When you open the freezer door look at the right wall. There should be a light flashing. If the light is not flashing then push on the flapper on the left wall and push on the light switch and see if the light starts flashing. If not then the emitter board is bad and would need to be replaced. If the light is flashing when you open the door then push on the flapper and see if it glows solid. If it continues to flash then the emitter board is bad. If the light is solid then pull the icemaker out and remove the cover and check the pins in the center of the large wheel. If they are pushed together or one is broken off then you would need to replace the icemaker module. The part number for the module is W10190935 and the part number for the emitter board is 4389102.
