Refrigerator is 3 years old ice maker all of a sudden stopped making ice. Does the icemaker need to be replaced? What steps do I need to take to troubleshoot the problem?
Answer Hello Steve. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

The fridge did not come with an icemaker I need to install a new one....Need instructions to install if possible step by step
Part number W10122576
To access the icemaker in your refrigerator you would take the ice bin out and remove the 2 screws that are on either side. Lift up on the casing and lift the casing off. Once off there will be 2 screws holding the icemaker bracket in place. Unplug harness and remove the screws and lift icemaker out. The icemaker part number for your unit is W10122576.
How do you remove the harness wire from the freezer door?
Answer Hello Rick. You will lift up on the tab of the wiring connector to remove the icemaker W10122576 from the unit. There is no way of replacing the harness inside the door without replacing the door assembly.
