The icemaker has stopped working in my Maytag MSD2254VEY01 refrigerator. It has been a problem (off and on) in the past and is about 3 yrs old. How do I remove the unit to test? I do not see how to unplug it. Water does flow to the dispenser.

With the icemaker removed, the voltage at th input harness is 75 Vac. Does this make sense? All the icemaker resistance readings are in acceptable range.

Hi, I installed this icemaker for my KitchenAid (KSRV22FVBT00) about a week ago. I thought this was what I needed to do, since the old one had no trouble filling with water and freezing, it just wouldn't eject the ice. But now after a week there's no water in the tray and no activity at all. Any ideas?

Latest Questions

Hi, I received this ice maker from your company today and am installing it. I noticed that on the left side of the motor case there is a graphic indicating an "on" and an "off" position, apparently for some switch on the unit. But I don't see any switch anywhere that I can set. Can you tell me how to find it, or otherwise what I should do?

I tried posting this in the repair forums but it got rejected twice. My Whirlpool model ed2fhaxsl00 icemaker will not make ice. I do not feel comfortable testing with probes because it is a side-by-side and I do not have good access to the face to insert the probes. I tried adding water to the tray. It took a long time to freeze but would not kick out the cubes. I was able to take the icemaker out and allowed it to thaw to get rid of the cubes, then reinstalled it and it still did not work. The water nozzle on the inside appears to not be frozen - I stuck a q-tip up it and it went past the seal OK. I also held the flapper down and the infrared light stayed on. Should I get a new icemaker and pray it works? They are about $130 online and look like an easy fix. If it is a frozen line, it looks pretty complex to get into all the areas because it is well integrated into the freezer housing. I viewed internet videos for suggestions but they all seem to deal with top freezer mounted icemakers that have easy access to all parts. My fridge is side-by-side and everything is too tight or covered up. The ice tray does look discolored, so it may be ready to start peeling the paint anyway. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

My refrigerator is only 3 years old. The other day I notice that no ice was being made. When I opened the flap to the ice maker I saw that a ice cube was stuck in the in a "stove pipe" fashion and did not eject into the bin. Is it possible the motor burned up with that ice cube stuck in there? Thanks, Jason E
