does the ignitor get hot and send a signal for the gas to kick on or does it just get hot if not what sends the signal to tell the gas the ignitor is hot and ready.
Answer Edward, Tes the ignitor does get hot(approximatemy 2300 dgrs. F.) When the ignitor glows, it draws 3.2 to 3.6 amps on the system, it also produces 3.2 to 3.6 VAC to the terminals on the safety valve. The amperage or voltage causes the bi metal switch to warp and that allows the gas to be released from the valve, when the gas reaches to hot igniter92300 dgrs.) it ignites and you have a flame. Thanks
