I noticed that on the appliance I received, the white fabric enclosing the wire for the ignitor was not present. (When the two ignitors are sitting next to one another in the video, one of them has this white fabric around the wire, the other doesn't.) I'm replacing the ignitor right now and I'm wondering if I need to somehow transfer this white enclosing fabric from the wires of the old ignitor to my new ignitor? Or can I just put in the new ignitor exactly as it came?

My oven will not heat up past 220 degrees. The igniter does not glow at all, tested it for continuity and it tested good. Unplugged the range and tested the leads on the safety valve (both sets) tested good for continuity. Can barely read the temp. display. The broiler and stove top work fine.

Hello, I have a Maytag Gas oven that fires up, gets to a certain temperature, usually under the temp requested at the control board, and then all of a sudden it will shoot up to 500 degrees. What do you think? I have back probed the oven temp sensor and got the correct resistance on that part, but I am not sure if it would be the igniter? I don't have a clamp on tester to see what the draw is from the igniter, just a multi meter. Is there a certain # I should be reading to test the igniter with my multi meter?
