What's the best way to remove the impeller from the motor shaft on a Magic Chef DU4KV?
Answer Hello Steve. To remove the impeller from the shaft, you can try prying from the bottom. If it does not turn loose from the splines, you may have to carefully use a cold chisel and cut it away from the shaft.
Does this Impeller include the rubber seal that fits inside the housing?
Answer Hello Swany. Yes, the impeller 6-904027 comes with the rubber seal. Hope this helps.
I have a slow water leak where the water pump enters the bowl. I've taken the 4 screws that attach the pump to the bowl out and I can not remove the pump from the bowl. What other parts need to be loosened to remove the pump from the bowl?
Answer Hi Ron. If you have the older style vertical motor with impeller and it will not come off, here is a procedure for this. First thing, trying to torque the 1/4 inch screw off with a nut driver and vice grips is a bad idea, might just bust the screw off in the motor shaft. Take a sharp wood chisel and gently pound down on the top edge of the impeller close to the screw. Crack it away from the shaft, then put penetrating oil on the screw and take it off. Works every time, just be careful not to pound down too hard, might damage the motor. Thank You.
