The 2 big burners do not work. bought new ones they do not work. the elments are good be cause i plugged them in small slots they worked fine. is there a switch that controls them?

Right front dual burner is inoperable. The switch does not engage the fan and I hear the electricity either arching or attempting to engage the switch. All the other burners work correctly. Serial is 13802256GV. I am guessing that the switch needs replacing but am uncertain if it is the infinite switch or another switch. Sometimes if I move the switch to around the 4 or 5 position the burner light willl come on. Have any suggestions?

When putting the burner setting to medium the element gets extremely hot. I have to put the settings to extremely low for the element to cool down.
