What is the purpose of the Broil pan? The bottom oven element in my stove broke in half. There was a bright white flash and when we looked at the stove we saw the element broken. Would not using the broiler pan cause this to happen?

Answer Hello Garmore. The broil pan is used to cook with certain things with. It shouldn't have anything to do with the problem you have. The elements in ovens burn out over time. If you replace the bake element, you should be fine. Be sure and disconnect the power before doing the repair. Hope this helps.
