Will the ice maker and water dispenser work with a clogged or removed water filter?
Answer Hello Greg. No, if the water filter is removed, without a bypass, or if the filter is clogged, you will need to replace the water filter 8171413 if it is bad in the unit.
What is the correct part number for a replacement water filter? I've seen 3 different numbers so far: 8171413 (and a cyst-filtering version that is 8171414), 3118273, and 3182816. Thanks for the help. Blake
Answer Blake, There are various filters to remove various chemicals and minerals from the water supply. The 8171413 Removes Particulates and 99% of Chlorine. It is used in most installations and applications. The manufacturer no longer offers the "cyst" filter 8171414 which
