I have recently replaced the pump and the drive belt. However, now the motor pulley spins but the belt does not and the pulley spins at such a rate that it begins to melt the belt. To fix this, should I replace the pulley or the thrust bearing kit? If I replace the thrust bearing kit, will it tighten the drive belt so it begins to spin with the pulley?
Answer Hello Chris,
The unit you provided the model number for is a single belt system. You should remove the belt and turn the drain pump pulley by hand. If there is any abnormal sounds or rough feeling, the drain pump should be replaced. If not and the thrust bearing kit is fully disengaging the brake when turned manually, the spin bearing is the most likely cause of the problem.
the water fill's up and it doesn't start isolating water does drain out and it does spin when it is put on spin
Answer Roger, It's not likely a lid switch or motor issue, at this point. You'll need to check the water level switch circuits (11 to 14, closed circuit) when the tub is full, and several timer contacts with the timer in the agitate/wash selection and the knob pulled out. The closed circuits should be: terminal 7 to 8 , 9 to 32, and 26 to 28 should all be "closed" circuits on a multimeter. Thanks
