I would like to replace cartridges on my cook top. Since its so old (10-15yrs) is it possible to do this? I also have the down-draft in center of the cooktop. Would any of the cartridges that plug into original sockets work for me without doing any change over with other parts or would I need to replace the complete cooktop?

I keep seeing answers that A122B has 3 flat prongs will work with the older 4-prong cooktops. However, I believe it requires adding a prong plus a wire modification to work. I worry I will make the change and then something will go wrong with the part and I won't be able to return it.

I have a Whirlpool Cooktop RC8700EDB-2 with Radiant Modules. I have one module that no longer works, and they are no longer available. This item looks exactly like what I have, even the prong configuration is the same. Could I replace my broken module with this one? Would it work in my Whirlpool?
