Answer Hello Marcia. That sounds like normal operation. Just make sure the brake is stopping the tub when the spin cycle is complete. If not, replace the brakes R0000014 on the unit.

Answer Hello Phil, Your helix and pulley are getting jammed up and not allowing brake to release fully. You will need to replace the Washers 40065701 and 40063201, the Helix 40047402, the pulley 40047202 and the belt 27001006. Even though the belt looked ok it may have a weak spot from getting jammed.

Answer Hi Larry. The no agitate symptom is a lid switch part # R0000014. Look at the belt part # 27001007 to see if it has burnt. Look at the belt pulley ass part # 40045001 to see if it has broken or dragging. Look at the brake pads part # R0000014 to see if they are fractured or broken not allowing the clutch release and the unit to spin. Remove the top tub cover. Look in between the inner tub basket with a flashlight to see if any balled up clothing articles are bunched up not allowing the inner basket to spin as well. Look at the upper trans./tub bearing to see if there has been any water leaking from the tub seal and the bearing.Thank you.

Answer Hello Rod. You need to check and see if the brakes R0000014 are bad and needs to be replaced on the unit. If they are broken or bad, they will cause the washer to do as you described.

Answer Rick, A sticky brake rotor R9900474 or worn out,distorted helx, pulley or washers 40047402 40047202 40063201 40065701 would be the more likely issue, if the washer was not overloaded. You can visually check the brake pads but even that not too easy, without "tearing it down". Good Luck and Thanks

Answer Hi Sal. When you have all the main pulley , bolt , helix and washers assy. together, you can rotate the assy. enough that the pulley will engage the clutch and widen the pulley. Then the brakes will be easily inserted and loctite/bolted down. Thank You.
