I have an Amana Top Load Washer. It is leaking water from up under the tub. I can't really tell where the water is coming from, but when the metal thing under the tub starts to spin, in the spin rinse cycle, water is dripping on it and in turn it is slinging droplets of water as it spins. I found a large screw after I opened the front of the washer laying on the bottom. One of the seals, shows a picture of a screw, the size I found, holding it on. If you have any helpful ideas about this problem please run it by me. Thanks. Boomtown

Good Afternoon, My agitator is one piece, but only agitates basically in one direction. It will move about 1.5 turns counterclockwise, then about 1/4 turn clockwise. Before I took the agitator off, I was able to spin it and the tub in both directions. After removing the agitator, I was able to do the same by turning the drive bell. When I removed the bell, the teeth on it and the teeth on the shaft the bell fits over appear to be fine. I'm guessing that my problem is something other than the drive bell. If so, your guidance would be appreciated. Could it be that the agitation movement and directions I described above are normal? Thanks in advance Martin

In the service manual it indicates that you need a special tool 293P4 to install the seal from the R9900189 kit. Can the seal be installed without this tool?
