I need to get the Hub out to get to the seal. is there a tool for this. there is a leak from the shaft - assuming need to change the hub seal assembly
If the drive bell is removed, the hub in the kit R9900552 should lift off the transmission splines. It does not unscrew off of them. If it is stuck, you will need to cut it off, but be careful not to damage the transmission.
On last spin cycle machine make a lot of noise. I ran with no water in it and noticed some small oil line in the tub.
Answer Hello Ron,
For the noise during spin cycle you would need to replace the tub seal R9900552 and main bearing 40004201P. If you are seeing oil on the inside of the tub you will need to replace the transmission assembly 34526P.
In the service manual it indicates that you need a special tool 293P4 to install the seal from the R9900189 kit. Can the seal be installed without this tool?
The seal can be installed without the tool but it is not quite as easy and you have to make sure it is fully seated and even all the way around. Some prefer the use of the tool and I've talked to some who have done this for years and didn't even know the tool existed for the job.
