My washer is smoking and smelling of burning rubber in high spin cycle at end of wash cycle. the rubber that sits next to the metal rim of inner tub is getting worn and chewed up. The metal rim looks oval and not round not sure if its supposed to look like this or not. When I open door smoke pours out and rim of metal tub is hot to touch on one 3 inch area of rim.

In part number AP4260930, is the bearing built into the triple seal, or does the triple seal sit on top of a separate bearing? When I took apart my washer, I found what looks like the seal in part# AP4261193 sitting on top of the bearing (part#4049019) that is bolted in with three bolts. Should I simply install a new AP4261193 on top of the old bearing? I don't see how AP4260930 would be compatible with the bearing set up (i.e. with part #AP4049019).

I asked this question previously: I am installing kit AP4261193 after having replaced the lower bearing and reassembling the tub. My question: How tight should I screw the washtub hub down and then how tight to make the seal nut? The instructions don't tell. Dave for Model Number NAV 5800 AWW ANSWER Hello Dave. The tub nut should be snugged down well. It does not specify the amount, but you do not want it loose. QUESTION How tight should I screw down the hub? I have ruined 2 seal heads already trying to get this right. Help!
