Door wont close properly on the right side. Think it is the hinges. I ordered 2 new hinges since the oven is so old, might as well replace both. I pulled out the door and it appears the hinges are located 'in' in the actual oven, not the door like some newer models. How do to replace the hinges. I removed broiler bottom drawer, but still not clear access to remove and replace. Any tips? Thanks so much.
To be able to replace the door hinges on this model it will require the side panels to come off. To do this you will need to remove the burners and burner grates. Remove the back panel on the unit. Lift the main top off and take one side of the control panel loose where it connects to the range. Remove the side panel and hinge. Install the new hinge. Once installed do the same thing on the other side.
Oven door will not fully close at the top of the door. A lot of heat escapes. I have new gaskets, but that didn't help. Do I need new hinges?
Answer Hello Garry,
Based on the information you will want to look to make sure that the oven door inner liner is not warped. If the door is not bowing out then you would want to replace the hinges 12400042.
