My washer is agitates but does doot spin with clothes in it . Do you think it is the clutch plate if so How do i replace the plate it has an orbital transmission
Answer Hello Scott,
You would want to look for a slipping belt and look for a bad motor plate not keeping proper tension. If this checks ok then you will want to make sure that there is nothing caught in between the inner and outer tub and if not then would have bad tub bearing.
I have a top load Heavy Duty Maytag washer and water is leaking at the top of the transmission at the bottem of the outer tub and would like to know if there is a seal kit for this and instructions on the repair. Also If there is anything else I should replace while doing this. The washer seems to be working fine other than the leak.
Answer Hello Dale. You need to replace the mounting stem repair kit 6-2095720 and the tub bearing kit 6-2040130. There is a spanner wrench you will also need for this repair TJ90TB123A. Instructions should be included with the kits. Pay particular attention to where grease doesn't go! If grease gets on that part of the seal, it will not seat! Also, when you press in the seal assembly, make sure it is setting straight before proceding as this will keep the seal from seating. I hope this helps and have a great day!
