My Jenn Air isnt making ice and the water coming out of the door is very very limited. I understand that I need one or possibly two water valves? How do I know if I need to replace both or just one? I understand that #AP4071513 is the water valve for the ice and water, so what does #AP4009066 do? Should I replace both of these parts at the same time?

Answer Hello Ken,
The manufacturer put two valves on for several years thinking that it would be like a safety device to prevent water leaks from water valve failures. As it turned out, if there is going to be a leak, there is going to be a leak. I do regret having to tell you that on a unit that has the two water inlet valves, it is advisable to replace both at the same time simply because if one just failed, it will only be a very short time before the other one fails and the job will have to be done again. The only real way to tell which valve is failing is to disconnect the valve from the mounted poition and remove the water line from the out put of the valve, (bottom line). This is dangerous since it mixes water and electricity. In any case, both valves should be replaced as a pair.
In actuality, the first and second valves are bother water and ice. In other words, when water is dispensed, one valve on each water inlet valve opens to allow a path for the water to flow.
