How do I replace a burner control knob?

Answer Hello Erin. The burner knob 8522566 pulls off the switch shaft and you press the new knob onto the shaft.
switch on left front burner does not turn on griddle-tried switching knop and burner fromright side,but still wont work.. does it need new switch connection ?

Answer Joan, You're on the right track, you more than likely have a shorted infinite switch 3149400 or damaged wire from the switch to the burner receptacle. Good Luck and Thanks
