The Rinse Aid knob comes off during the cycle. It doesn't seem to make a difference what degree ("More" or "Less") the knob position is in.

I have 2 Maytag Dishwashers. I recently noticed that the nylon coating, particularly on the lower racks has "thinned" and rust is noticeable in a number of areas. Could this potentially become a health hazard or damage my dishes/silverware? I imagine the only solution would be to replace them, but they are ever so expensive!
