Answer Mike, Due to the configuration of the oven burners, Yes there are two different igniters 31947201 is the broil burner igniter and is the "shorter of the two. The bake burner igniter 786324 actually extends through the back wall of the oven cavity, and has a cover plate that encompasses it, to promote proper air flow and reduce the possibility of damage to the wiring in the back of the unit. There is no "safety switch" involved in the circuit, power to the igniter is supplied by a relay on the ERC, when a selection is made, and the voltage from the ERC causes the igniter glow. When the igniter glows and produces 3.2 to 3.6 VAC or draws 3.2 to 3.6 amps on the system, the bi metal release in the dual valve 786324 opens and ignition occurs. Between the relay on the ERC and the Bi metal switch on the valve, this would be the "safety switch" as you described it. If you have the proper gas supplied to the range, if the igniter glows and produces the proper voltage or amperage draw, bu there is no ignition, then the dual valve is faulty. and you'll need to check both the bake and broil systems, they can fail on an individual basis. The manufacturer has discontinued producing the Dual Valve but a failed valve is not that common a failure. We're not sure CGI would "rebuild" the gas valve. Basically, the ERC / Clock, is the "brains" of the oven system. It senses the input from the sensors, and the control selection buttons determines what and where to send the output power to the appropriate components based on the selection made.
