What would make the bulbs continue to blow? Mine have not been lasting but about a month. Please advise
Charles R for Model Number j9855vuv
Answer Hello Charles,
You would want to check power coming to the light bulb to make sure that you are not getting a high voltage reading to the socket. There should only be 120 vac coming to the bulb. Also make sure that you using an approved bulb for ovens.
My light socket assembly on the above model looks like it has an additional electrical connection on the body of the assembly. There are the two push connectors on the back and what looks like a third closer to where the light bulb actually screws in. Any thoughts on this? My replacement part only has the two push style connectors on the back of the assembly.
Kb for Model Number 3468XVW
Answer KB, The third "lug" was for an external ground, that is no longer required, the receptacle is grounded to the chassis by the spring clips on the metal housing circumference. It's also grounded through an internai "jumper" by thee white wire that attaches to one of the existing lugs. Once you install it and attach the wires you'll be fine. Thanks
Do you have any helpful tips for removing the old lamp assembly to replace with our new Part # AP4101776?
Mel for Model Number CWE9000BCE Maytag Oven
Answer Hello Mel. Of course before you start, turn the breaker off to the unit (or unplug the unit). I use an offset screwdriver 210122 and bend the tabs up to remove. This takes a lot less time than removing the back and as long as you keep a hold of the wires, eliminates the need to even move the unit out from the wall. Hope this helped you!
