A while back, I needed to replace one of the bulbs in the oven and was able to do so without much incident. But when I unscrewed the glass bulb cover, along with the cover came quite a bit of (what appeared to be) fiberglass insulation. It was quite thread-like and impossible to return to its original position. I replaced the bulb and all seemed well. Today, however, one of the bulb covers just dropped out, the portion of which screws into the base having sheared off (presumably due to temperatures). I plan to replace the bulb covers, but I'm curious about this insulation-type stuff. What is/was it, and do I need to replace that, too?
Many thanks. As you can no doubt tell from the model number, I've had this appliance for a long time. I *love* it.

Answer Longtime owner,
The part that may have come out could have been the light lens gasket 3184533 and should be installed with the light lens.
How does this models' lens cover come off? It shows a metal ring at the base of the cover, but should it just unscrew to the left? I tried it and it will not budge.
Jack for Model Number 6s773lxss
Answer Hello Jack,
Because of the expansion and contraction in the bake compartment, these tend to seize. I use a rubber sheet like you would use to open a jar, to increase my traction on the glass while protecting my hand at the same time, (wear gloves also). It will un-screw by turning it counter-clock-wise.
Lens cover is hard to turn, do I need to push in the turn to lefty? Having trouble

Answer Hi Betty. You might try to use a very little wd-40 spray. Use gripped gloves and turn counterclockwise to remove. Lens part # 9781049. Thank You.
