No spin please help me.
Answer Hello Baldemar. If the unit is running, but is not spinning, you will need to check the thrust bearing kit 12002213 and see if it is bad and needs to be replaced.
Machine is 8 years old. Being a 3-cycle, top-loading machine, it's easy to manually start/stop, change water levels; start/stop spinning, etc. It had seemed to not spin clothes dry. At times, it hasn't seemed to spin the clothes dry enough. A few days ago, it started having a faint burning odor which seemed to be coming from up near the lid panel at the beginning of the spin part of cycle, and seems to get hung up trying to get 'started' spinning. I can force it to spin, and once it gets the 'umph,' it seems to spin normal. A towel had disintegrated in washer a few weeks ago, and thought maybe pump got plugged, but water goes in and drains out ok. I checked belt underneath; it's ok (has a slight bit of slack, but understand from reading that's normal). Tipping machine back and looking under at the pulleys, the top- right pulley can be moved slightly about 1.5" Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
Answer Hello J.S.,
The top right pulley when looking up at the bottom of the unit is the drain pump pulley. It should not have any play and if it does, the drain pump 35-6780 should be replaced. The pulley to the left is the motor pulley. It will have play in it since the motor is mounted on a spring loaded mount with glides so it can move, (necessary for the design). Since the unit had a towel come apart inside it it makes sense that the drain pump is probably giving you the opposition to the tubs rotation.
